EAK Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 9 September 2026

1. Purpose

This Cookie Policy has been prepared by EAK Elektronik Bilgisayar İnternet ve İletişim Hizmetleri Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi (“EAK”) to provide information about cookies and similar technologies used on websites operated by EAK.

This Policy explains:

  • what types of cookies may be used,
  • the purposes for which cookies are used,
  • which cookies are strictly necessary,
  • which cookies may require user preference or explicit consent,
  • how users may manage their cookie preferences.

More detailed information regarding the processing of personal data is available in the EAK KVKK Privacy Notice and EAK Privacy Policy.

2. What Is a Cookie?

Cookies are small data files that may be stored on a user's device when visiting a website.

Cookies may be used for purposes including:

  • maintaining a user session,
  • remembering user preferences,
  • maintaining website security,
  • ensuring proper operation of services,
  • measuring usage and performance.

Even where a cookie does not directly contain identifying information, information collected through cookies may constitute personal data when combined with IP addresses, device identifiers, session information or similar technical data.

3. Categories of Cookies

Cookies used or potentially used on EAK websites may be classified according to their purpose as follows.

3.1. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website and essential services to function properly.

They may be used for purposes including:

  • maintaining user sessions,
  • secure login to the customer panel,
  • load balancing,
  • security controls,
  • CSRF protection,
  • storing privacy or cookie preferences selected by the user.

Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent certain areas of the website or customer panel from functioning correctly.

Where such cookies are strictly necessary for providing a service explicitly requested by the user or for the technical operation of the website, they may be used without relying on explicit consent where permitted by applicable law.

3.2. Functional Cookies

Functional cookies may be used to remember choices made by users.

Examples may include:

  • language preference,
  • interface preference,
  • previously selected options.

Depending on the nature and purpose of the cookie and the personal data processing involved, user preference or explicit consent may be required.

3.3. Performance and Analytics Cookies

These cookies may be used to understand how a website is used and to measure its performance.

Information may include:

  • pages visited,
  • page loading times,
  • error rates,
  • approximate visitor numbers,
  • general browsing behaviour within the website.

Where such cookies are not strictly necessary and involve the processing of personal data, they will be activated only where the applicable legal requirements, including any necessary user preference or explicit consent, have been satisfied.

3.4. Advertising and Targeting Cookies

If EAK uses advertising or campaign systems in the future, advertising or targeting cookies may be used to:

  • measure advertising effectiveness,
  • display content based on user interests,
  • limit repeated advertisements,
  • evaluate campaign performance.

These cookies are not strictly necessary.

Where advertising or targeting cookies involve personal data processing requiring consent, they will not be activated before the required consent has been obtained.

4. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

First-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are created directly by the EAK website being visited.

They may be used particularly for:

  • session management,
  • security,
  • user preferences.

Third-Party Cookies

Third-party cookies or similar identifiers may be created through technologies provided by external service providers.

Such technologies may be associated with services including:

  • content delivery networks,
  • security services,
  • traffic analytics,
  • embedded media,
  • analytics,
  • advertising.

Where third-party cookies are used, the privacy and cookie policies of the relevant third-party provider may also apply.

5. Cloudflare

EAK may use Cloudflare infrastructure for its websites and certain services.

Cloudflare may use technical cookies or similar security technologies for purposes including:

  • DNS,
  • content delivery,
  • DDoS protection,
  • web application security,
  • bot detection,
  • malicious traffic filtering.

These technologies may be used to:

  • verify legitimate users,
  • filter malicious traffic,
  • enforce security rules,
  • maintain service continuity.

Certain Cloudflare security cookies or identifiers may be strictly necessary for the secure operation of the relevant service.

Because Cloudflare operates a global infrastructure, limited technical information such as IP addresses may be processed outside Türkiye.

Further information regarding such processing is available in the EAK Privacy Policy and EAK KVKK Privacy Notice.

6. Customer Panel Cookies

Cookies used in the EAK customer panel may be required for purposes including:

  • maintaining authenticated sessions,
  • user authentication,
  • preventing unauthorised access,
  • protection against CSRF and similar web attacks,
  • remembering user preferences.

Some of these cookies are strictly necessary for the secure operation of the customer panel.

Session cookies may expire when the relevant session ends or when the applicable technical timeout period is reached.

7. Cookie Retention Periods

Cookies may generally be classified into two categories according to their retention period.

Session Cookies

Session cookies are generally stored for the duration of a browser session and may be deleted when the browser is closed or the relevant session ends.

Persistent Cookies

Persistent cookies may remain stored on the user's device for a defined period.

Their retention period depends on the purpose of the relevant cookie.

EAK aims not to retain cookies for longer than reasonably necessary for their intended purpose.

8. Cookie Preferences

Where non-essential cookies are used, users will be given the opportunity to make a choice.

The cookie management interface may provide options such as:

Accept All

Enables permitted cookie categories in addition to strictly necessary cookies.

Reject All

Prevents non-essential cookies from being used.

Strictly necessary cookies may continue to operate where required for the website to function.

Manage Preferences

Allows users to enable or disable different cookie categories separately.

9. Pre-Selected Options

Cookie categories requiring explicit consent should not be enabled or pre-selected on behalf of the user.

The following actions shall not, by themselves, be treated as explicit consent:

  • taking no action,
  • continuing to browse the website,
  • scrolling the page.

Where explicit consent is required, the relevant cookies will be activated only after an active and freely given choice by the user.

10. Withdrawal of Consent

Users may change their cookie preferences after initially making a selection.

Where a cookie preference management tool is available, users may amend their choices through a link such as:

Cookie Preferences

or another equivalent control.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

11. Managing Cookies Through the Browser

Users may also manage cookies through their browser settings.

Depending on the browser, users may:

  • view existing cookies,
  • delete cookies,
  • block cookies from particular websites,
  • block all cookies.

However, blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent certain functions of EAK websites or the customer panel from operating correctly.

12. Cookie Inventory

The exact cookies used on EAK websites depend on the technical configuration of the website at the relevant time.

Where applicable, the published cookie inventory may include information such as:

Information Description
Cookie Name Technical name of the cookie
Provider EAK or relevant third party
Purpose Reason the cookie is used
Category Strictly necessary, functional, analytics or advertising
Party First-party or third-party
Retention Period for which the cookie remains stored

EAK aims to maintain the cookie inventory in accordance with the cookies actually used on its websites.

Accordingly, cookies will not be listed merely because they might potentially be used in the future.

For example, where they are actually present, the inventory may include items such as:

  • session cookies,
  • CSRF-related cookies,
  • Cloudflare security cookies,
  • customer panel session identifiers.

13. Analytics Services

If EAK uses an analytics service such as Google Analytics, Matomo or another similar service, the relevant cookies and technologies will be included in the cookie inventory.

Where non-essential analytics cookies involve personal data processing requiring explicit consent, they will not be activated before the required consent has been obtained.

EAK does not present an analytics service as active in this Policy merely because such a service may potentially be used in the future.

14. Embedded Content

EAK websites may contain third-party embedded content or services, including, where applicable:

  • video services,
  • map services,
  • social media content,
  • live support tools.

Such services may place their own cookies or use similar technologies.

Where non-essential third-party cookies require user consent under applicable legislation, the relevant preference or consent mechanism will be applied before those technologies are activated.

15. Personal Data

Personal data collected through cookies is processed on the applicable legal ground under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), depending on the relevant processing activity.

Where explicit consent is required for a particular cookie or processing activity, such consent will be obtained separately.

A cookie notice or cookie banner does not replace the EAK KVKK Privacy Notice.

More detailed information concerning the processing of personal data is available in the EAK KVKK Privacy Notice.

16. International Data Transfers

Use of third-party cookies or technologies may result in personal data being processed or transferred outside Türkiye.

In particular, where global service providers are used, limited technical data may be processed through infrastructure located in other countries.

Where an international transfer of personal data occurs, it shall be carried out in accordance with the applicable provisions of KVKK governing transfers of personal data abroad and through an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism.

17. Updates to This Cookie Policy

EAK may update this Cookie Policy where:

  • website technologies change,
  • new third-party services are introduced,
  • cookies being used change,
  • applicable legislation or regulatory guidance changes.

The current version will be published on the EAK website.

18. Contact

Requests concerning the processing of personal data through cookies under KVKK may be submitted to:

kvkk@eak.com.tr

For general technical support or customer service requests, users should use EAK's normal support channels.
